If you are interested you can see an example in my blog post
http://quiltsewsewsue.blogspot.com/2009/06/burda-wof-01-2009-112-skirt-part-1.htmlSuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01023115170916061414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258632543894619198.post-4614379566144009152009-11-10T15:01:20.076-08:002009-11-10T15:01:20.076-08:00Your solution is my solution! If I put in a zip I tend to do a lapped zip so you don't get the 'gap' at the top in the same way that you do with a centered zip or invisible zip. I will often move the zip from the CB to the underarm seam as well to avoid needing a hook and eye!
Love the print in that sundress by the way!sandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17839286196047989551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258632543894619198.post-33438750952894118352009-11-06T22:40:32.700-08:002009-11-06T22:40:32.700-08:00Thanks for checking out my blog Eugenia. It's made by Collins/Dritz, and is easily available here in the US. http://voguefabricsstore.com/store/images/P/Collins-7.jpg/ It's a two sided tape, so you can position it before peeling the paper off, and it washes out fairly easily. I use it for putting in zippers, and positioning slippery fabrics.jillnjoshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03702978468097634036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258632543894619198.post-21941420859783605382009-11-04T16:55:13.900-08:002009-11-04T16:55:13.900-08:00I use them at times, but I agree that they are orn...I use them at times, but I agree that they are ornery little things!!!!Kathihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11152942097072530468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258632543894619198.post-26243584552997149732009-11-04T15:56:58.087-08:002009-11-04T15:56:58.087-08:00If I don't need one then I don't use one, ...If I don't need one then I don't use one, but if I do then my method is the same as Gwen, I make a thread loop which makes the whole thing lie much flatter. I also find it's easier to stitch into the right place after sewing your hook on to make sure that the "gap" is completely closed.AllisonChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07431369603470575306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258632543894619198.post-45620423083324942222009-11-04T15:45:23.669-08:002009-11-04T15:45:23.669-08:00Nup, I hate zips!Nup, I hate zips!Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00622769905155059570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258632543894619198.post-28952312574869850542009-11-04T11:24:29.218-08:002009-11-04T11:24:29.218-08:00I use the hook, and make a tiny buttonhole "l...I use the hook, and make a tiny buttonhole "loop" with thread.gwensewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05809115166600229262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258632543894619198.post-36788703581620188172009-11-04T08:13:25.672-08:002009-11-04T08:13:25.672-08:00The one on the sundress is much better than any of...The one on the sundress is much better than any of the ones I've attempted.
